Dr Síle Griffin completed her BSc in Neuroscience at University College Cork, MSc in Stem Cells and Regeneration from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom in 2010, and PhD in Neuroscience from Keele University, United Kingdom in 2015. Dr Griffin’s doctoral research focused on stem cell therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, in particular the role of vitamins in brain development and repair.

Following her academic studies, Dr Griffin worked at Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit, prior to joining DuPont Nutrition and Biosciences, Finland in 2018. Here, she worked as a Scientist on the Brain Health Platform, conducting pre-clinical and clinical trials to establish effective nutritional therapies for cognitive health and healthy aging. In 2021, Dr Griffin was awarded a Marie Sklodowska Curie Career-FIT Fellowship (Jakeman Research Group, PESS) to work on a nutritional strategy using a plant and marine-based dietary supplement to support healthy musculoskeletal ageing, which fits with the timely transition towards a sustainable food system in Europe.
