Lisa Vigo
Researcher, Appetite
Lisa Vigo (BSc and MSc) joined Food for Health Ireland as a research assistant in 2022. She has a BSc in exercise science, and a MSc in adapted exercise, both received cum laude from University of Padua. During her master’s, she had her first contact with research working as an intern at the Nutrition and Exercise Laboratory. It continued as an Erasmus student, at University College Dublin where she dove into Human Nutrition topics, such as taste and appetite changes.
She is currently working on testing the effect of a novel protein supplementation (whey hydrolysate). The main aim is to assess whether it can increase appetite and energy intake in older adults with poor appetite. Such an effect would have significant health benefits for this population.
